JAYSON Q. WECHTER

by Michael Durand

Jayson Wechter and I were editors together at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1974. He helped train me when I first joined the paper. Thanks to Jayson, I was the Feature Editor by the end of my first month. Jayson's column was called "Quack" and it was extraordinarily well written.

Jason was my roommate in 1978 when I first moved to San Francisco. We shared a flat at 918 Stanyan Street with Sue Kolb, and, after Sue left to join the Peace Corps, comedian Gil Christner.

Fast forward thirty-two years later and find Jayson still in San Francisco.

He is the founder and brains behind the famous Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt.

If you see him, tell him Michael Durand says "QUACK!"
