Michael Durand
January 11, 2010 I moved from Pasadena to San Francisco in 2007. Here is what my website said in 2006. I started "Durand Planning" in 1995 after seventeen years as a corporate event producer. By 2000 I added photography, video production and music performance & education to the list of services, and changed the company name to Durand Productions. In 2005 "Destination Pasadena" was born thanks to my friend, Mr. H., who is a native of Pasadena, and very proud of it. His idea was to give a local's "behind the scenes" tour of Pasadena. That started me wondering about local Destination Management Companies (DMCs). Within a few weeks, Destination Pasadena became a business. A "new" business based on nearly 30 years of event production successes. In 2006, Craftsman Video was created to reflect the painstaking workmanship that goes into every multimedia project. The name Craftsman Video also captures the spirit of Pasadena's enormous contributions to the Arts and Crafts movement that continue to this day. The "About Us" Part "Us" is me and thousands of people who have helped me with my projects. "Us" is me and the client, the staff/cast/crew, the hotel staff, the transportation people, the tour guides, the restaurant workers, bands, lighting, A/V, flowers, golf courses, cruises and on and on. By working with a network of independent contractors, durand productions keeps overhead low. We're then able to provide our clients the best value: high quality for reasonable prices. There are way too many people who have worked for me directly to name them all, and any attempt would likely leave someone out. I do, however, have to thank some people. So, to the many employees or subcontractors who have helped me do my job, I thank you all. To make a large group feel welcome, safe, special, educated, motivated and also relaxed is no easy task. On this list, in no particular order, are people to whom I offer special thanks: Peter Miller, Ann Alana Cahill, Beverly Cantagallo, Susan Battaini, Regan Bermudez, Brad Macneil, Janet Miller, Michelle McNutt, Ava Megna, Michelle Maglionico, Michael Bingley, Paula Spanich, Susan Piel, Marilyn Paulous, Agnes Puerzer, Carolyn Charlton, Susie McKernan, Linda Calzadillas, Antonio Ogaz, Oliver P. Brown, Oscar Manzanares, Mary Kean and so many others. Thanks to Michael Bingley for his assistance with the Castle Press video.
