I recently left a job after four years working full-time and I am delighted that I'm finally getting a chance to update the durand productions website. Thanks for checking back again soon for new material. Meanwhile, here are some of my past projects from my years in Pasadena... About Michael Durand:  From his college days on the student newspaper and yearbook to today's digital images on the web, Michael has demonstrated a unique artistic eye. The only way to judge his work is to take a look! You will find the photography link at the top and the bottom of every page on this site.

 

In addition to his thirty plus years as a photographer, over the past ten years Michael has worked at virtually every position in video and television  production: producer, director, script writer, videographer, on-camera talent, voice-over talent, set designer, lighting designer, make-up, wardrobe, audio, lighting, stage manager, video tape operator, technical director, computer graphics, interviewer, production assistant, teleprompter operator,  digital video editor, musician, and the list goes on. durand productions'  most recent video and televsion project is a DVD of a special presentation of "All the World's a Stage," Pasadena's Television of Arts and Culture. "Jirayr H. Zorthian - His Life in His Words" is a two hour, 22 minute video of interviews with the colorful artist on his 45 acre ranch in the mountains above Pasadena, near Los Angeles, months before he passed away at the age of 92 in 2004. Also, don't miss the fascinating interview with Michael Werner, Spitzer Space Telescope Project Scientist on "FYI @ JPL."

Digital photography keeps getting better. durand productions recently purchased a new Canon 20D 8 megapixel single lens reflex camera.

  • Fall, 2005: Director, Technical Director, Video Editor and Video Editing Instructor for a television show called "Pasadena MoveOn Looks at the Issues." Copies of the Special Election show were distributed to markets reaching over 1,000,000 viewers. Recent topics included the November, 2005 special election in California and saving public access television.

  • AWS # 64 completed in January, 2006, features a slide show of photographs of rose parade float decorating alternately put to big band nusic and soothing piano. Segments are divided by clips of the USC Marching Band. Try to stream the show. (It doesn't always work.)

  • Spring, 2006: durand productions created a 3 1/2 minute video for The Castle Press, a respected printer in Pasadena since 1931. Call for a free presentation and estimate to tell your story with pictures, interviews, music and more...
